Tools:

Step 1: Proof Dough

Following the proofing/rising directions on your package of frozen raw dinner rolls. Most will require you to lay your rolls on a baking sheet, cover them with plastic wrap, and let them rise for a few hours.

Note: I have watched ALL of the Great British Bakeoff episodes available in the US and I just learned that “proofing” is the American word for “proving”. Who knew?

Step 2: Cut, Poke, brush

With your kitchen shears, cut small snips around your dough eight times in equal lengths, leaving the middle alone. You can use a knife if you don’t have shears, but it’s significantly slower.

Take your finger and poke a dent into the middle. Allow the dough to rise again for at least an hour (or more if needed) until they fluff back up nicely.

Make an egg wash by mixing a little milk with one egg. Brush the egg wash on top of each dough roll with your pastry brush.

Step 3: Bake & Finish!

Pop your rolls into the oven and follow the temperature and timing instructions on your roll package.

After you take them out of the oven, grab a pecan half and pop it into the middle of each roll to create a tasty stem!

Enjoy how cute they are before you devour all the carbs!

Happy Thanksgiving! xoxo
