Buy or Bye: Allure Beauty Box
I love beauty subscription boxes! I’ve tried many of them - Play! by Sephora, Birch Box, Ipsy, FabFitFun, Walmart - and some have been fantastic while others have fallen flat. Allure, the well-known magazine, has their own Beauty Box that I have never tried before and I decided to sign up and see if this subscription is worth the buy!
Expectations
My initial expectations were not very high. I assumed that the box would mostly consist of lame packet-style samples from companies they have advertising contracts with (like the Walmart one). They have a deal where your first box is $5 off the normal $15 Monthly Fee and it seemed low enough to give it a shot. If I’m being honest, the low price attributed to my low expectations since other boxes in that price range have disappointed me in the past.
REALITY
Now that I’ve received my first very box, I can tell you that my expectations were SO WRONG! These sample sizes are just like what you’d find along the checkout lanes at Sephora and they’re brand names that I’m familiar with! The Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast is something I’ve purchased before and that travel size alone is $15 at Sephora.
Contents + Price
Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast - Mini $15, Full $29
T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial - Mini Unknown, Full $80
Tarte Tarteist Pro Girl Boss Lashes - Full Size $12
Tarte Tarteist Pro Lash Adhesive in Clear - Full Size $9
MAC Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo - Full Size $18.50
Buy or Bye?
BUY! I’m still so surprised that three of the five items in this box were actual full sized items! The lashes, the lash glue, and the MAC lipstick were not trial or sample sizes! For $10, I got products that I currently use or will use, and I think it was absolutely worth it! I’ve been hearing a lot about T.L.C and I’ve been wanting to try out the Sukari Babyfacial for some time and now I can without buying the full size!
Unlike other subscription services, Allure does not give you credits for sharing with friends. You can, however, get $5 off your first box and you don’t even need a code - it will be automatically applied when you sign up here. This awesome September box is already sold out but you can still sign up for the October one!
