My Own Julie & Julia Cooking Project!

Do you know what I love about cookbooks these days? They’re so beautiful! Recipe creators are designing meals that are not only delicious but also incredibly aesthetic. Food photographers are making breakfast into actual art and I can’t get enough of it. Cookbooks are like the new coffee table books but with actual functionality!

Half Baked Harvest

One of the most aesthetically pleasing foodstagram accounts I’ve found is by Tieghan Gerard of Half Baked Harvest. Seriously, go check out her blog and Instagram page. I dare you not to drool. She posted a recipe for kabobs a few weeks back that I decided to try, and I was blown away by how stupidly delicious they were. It was those damn kabobs that made me drive to Barnes and Noble to buy both of her cookbooks because I didn’t want to wait several days for Amazon to deliver them. #noragrats

I don’t know about you, but even if I love a cookbook, I really only cook a few of the recipes. I’ve never been motivated enough to try to cook my way through a cookbook, even though I’ve always wanted to have my own Julie & Julia moment because I adore cooking and learning about cooking. That is why I was SO EXCITED to run out and get Gerard’s two cookbooks because I could immediately tell that she loves the same flavors that I do, but with a hipster twist. Once in hand, I knew with every turn of the page that THESE were the books that would finally give me a reason to buckle down and turn it into my Julie and Julia moment.

Follow Along with Me

I’ve dedicated an entire section of my blog towards documenting this adventure! I’ll share photos of the meals I make, along with a little snippet of my thoughts. After one week and five finished recipes, I can already tell I’m going to learn SO MUCH by the time this is over.

You can follow along with me by clicking on “Cooking” in the Menu, or finding the Cookbook Adventure icon on my Home Page!

enjoy! xoxo
